Ordering
A deposit of $850 is required to place an order for a Secrist guitar. The deposit is refundable up until the order start date[1], less a $25 cancellation fee. Once construction has begun, the deposit cannot be refunded. Building a Secrist guitar is a labor of love and each instrument is constructed with the same persistent attention to artistry, accuracy, and detail. Your finely crafted instrument will require 6 to 8 months to build. The completed instrument may be picked up from Secrist Guitar© or may be shipped directly to you. The remaining balance (price of the guitar less the deposit) plus shipping costs (if applicable) must be received no later than the time of pickup or shipping. All instrument shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer and will include insurance of the instrument. All guitars are shipped in a hard shell guitar case that is packed carefully in a shipping container according to strict specifications required by Secrist Guitar. Digital pictures of the packaging process will be supplied to the buyer. All shipments are sent via overnight Federal Express to minimize the risk of handling and environmental damage to the instrument.
[1] The order start date will be agreed to by myself and the customer. It is defined as two weeks prior to start of construction and involves kitting together all of the parts and materials needed for the instrument.

Warranty
Each Secrist guitar comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty covers all manufacturing and material defects for as long as the original owner possesses the guitar and for as long as I am alive. This warranty is not transferable and does not cover the wear and tear that will occur from normal guitar playing. It also does not cover damage resulting from improper use or care, for example, belt buckle scratches, damage as a result of dropping or banging, flat pick or fingernail finish scratches, damage due to high or low humidity, heat or cold damage, finish scratches and dings, or damage resulting from improper cleaning or storage. Refer to William Cumpiano’s article titled “Proper Care Guidelines” found under the “Info” menu tab on this website to understand how to take care of and get the most out or your custom instrument. A Secrist guitar is designed and built to provide a lifetime of enjoyment, if it is loved and well taken care of.
