Ordering
Placing an Order
When the design details for the guitar build have been agreed to, 30% of the cost of the guitar is required as a deposit to place the order. The deposit is refundable up until the order start date, less a $100 cancellation fee.
[1] The order start date will be agreed to by myself and the customer and will be the date after which parts will be ordered and kitted for the build (minimum of 3 weeks prior to start of construction). Adjustments to specifications and costs must be finalized by the order start date.
[2] Once the “order start date” has passed, no part of the deposit is refundable.
[3] Before beginning construction, I require:
-
An additional 20% of the total cost of the guitar to begin construction, bringing the amount paid up to this point to 50% of the total cost of the guitar.
-
A confirmed agreement, in writing, on all details.
-
All customer supplied materials, if any.
Payment
Unless other payment arrangements are agreed to, the remaining balance of the cost of the guitar (50% of cost of the guitar) will be required to receive the guitar.
If shipping is required, all instrument packing and shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer and will include insurance of the instrument. All guitars are shipped in a hard shell guitar case that is packed carefully in a shipping container according to strict specifications required by Secrist Guitar. Digital pictures of the packaging process will be supplied to the buyer. All shipments are sent via overnight Federal Express to minimize the risk of handling and environmental damage to the instrument.
Your finely handcrafted instrument will be completed in 6 to 10 months from the start of construction.

Warranty
Each Secrist guitar comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty covers all manufacturing and material defects for as long as the original owner possesses the guitar and for as long as I am alive. This warranty is not transferable and does not cover the wear and tear that will occur from normal guitar playing. It also does not cover damage resulting from improper use or care, for example, belt buckle scratches, damage as a result of dropping or banging, flat pick or fingernail finish scratches, damage due to high or low humidity, heat or cold damage, finish scratches and dings, or damage resulting from improper cleaning or storage. Refer to William Cumpiano’s article titled “Proper Care Guidelines” found under the “Info” menu tab on this website to understand how to take care of and get the most out or your custom instrument. A Secrist guitar is designed and built to provide a lifetime of enjoyment, if it is loved and well taken care of.
